Tanzania has a wealth of breathtaking natural
wonders including Africa's largest lake, Lake Victoria.
It also has the
highest mountain in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro and the world heritage site
of Ngorongoro Crater. The national parks provide unbelievable game
viewing, with the Great Migration being a wildlife enthusiast’s dream,
when over two million animals cross the vast plains of the Serengeti.
Why not capture the excitement and natural beauty of Tanzania and
combine it with a visit to the exotic spice island of Zanzibar?
What you need to know
As
there are many parks and itineraries to choose from safaris to Tanzania
are often divided into regional circuits. Tanzania’s northern circuit
attracts the majority of tourists and includes the Serengeti, Tarangire
and Lake Manyara National Parks and Ngorongoro Crater, a conservation
area. The southern circuit consists of the Selous Game Reserve,
Africa’s largest game reserve which is bigger than Denmark!
Our opinion
• Tanzania offers divers and snorkellers world-class reef and plentiful schools of tropical fish.
• Zanzibar is an ideal beach extension to any Tanzanian safari.
When to go?
The
standard tourist season is in January and February, when the hot, dry
weather is considered to be best game viewing. One of the best times to
go is late June to October, when the rains have finished and the air is
coolest.
