However, the best time to visit is their winter from July to September as the temperature during the day is tolerable. The humidity and the soaring temperature of summer diminish gradually in winter. It is advisable to avoid the summer season which is very hot and humid.

Mauritius has a hot and humid tropical climate in most areas for most of the year with an average temperature of 23°C. Summer lasts from December to April when there are occasional heavy tropical rains. The temperature on the coastal areas varies between 22°C in winter and 34°C in summer.  There is a risk of cyclones between January and April.
