Safaris > Zambia's Classic 11 Day Safari
Don’t miss any of Zambia’s highlights from the range of safaris on offer.
Explore two of Zambia’s premier parks - the South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi plus Livingstone, home to one of the seven natural wonders of the world – Victoria Falls.
Days 1-2 South Luangwa After
arrival into Mfuwe, transfer to Nkwali Camp. This short journey travels
through colourful local scenes of village life to the Luangwa River.
Nkwali camp has just 6 rooms, all with river views and open air
bathrooms and is set on private land overlooking the South Luangwa
National Park. After a dawn breakfast around the campfire depart on a
morning walk or drive. The game is superb and the area is home to many
herds of elephants and the Thornicroft giraffe. 2 nights Nkwali Camp. (FB)
Day 3 South Luangwa/Nsefu Transfer
through the park to your crossing point on the Luangwa River. Nsefu was
the first camp in Zambia and offers 6 rondavels with en-suite
facilities and clear river views. An evening game drive completes your
day. 3 nights Nsefu Camp. (FB)
Days 4-5 Nsefu Enjoy
a drive or walk through the ebony groves, explore the Nsefu sector of
the national park and drive to the saltpans. Morning and evening game
drives are available as well as the opportunity to experience life in a
real, non-tourist village. (Please enquire at time of booking for this option).
Day 6 Nsefu/Lower Zambezi Today
is a day of travel but the end result is well worth it! Fly to Lusaka
and then on to the Lower Zambezi. Spectacular aerial views of the wide
Zambezi with buffalo, elephant and hippos feeding can be seen as you
fly in. The Chongwe River Camp offers thatched chalets with a luxurious
open air bathroom and are situated under a canopy of Albida thorns with
fabulous river views. After lunch enjoy a game drive or a river
experience on the Zambezi. 3 nights Chongwe River Camp. (FB)
Days 7-8 Lower Zambezi Choose
your own itinerary for the next few days from the selection of canoe
trips, river safaris, bush walks and day and night game drives on
offer. Catch and release fishing of the infamous tiger fish is also
available in season.
Day 9 Lower Zambezi/Livingstone After
breakfast fly to Livingstone and transfer on arrival to Tongabezi Lodge
or Tongabezi Island Camp. The lodge is set in a tranquil grove of ebony
on a sweeping bend of the mighty Zambezi and consists of 5 tented
cottages and 4 spacious stone and thatch houses. The Island Camp is 3km
down stream and accessed by banana boat or canoe. This unique camp
offers 4 timber, reed and thatch cottages each with spectacular views
of the Zambezi. 2 nights Tongabezi Lodge or Tongabezi Island Camp. (FB)
