1. When is the best time to go to Tasmania
Tasmania has 4 seasons like Britain but in reverse so summer is December to February and the best time to go for festivals such as Taste of Tasmania, March to May is their autumn with balmy sunny days , June to August is their winter so a great time for invigorating walks and roaring log fires, Spring is Sept to Nov when it is fresh and green and a great time for fishing and golf.

2. What was your favourite experience in Tasmania
This is a really tricky one as it is so difficult to single one thing out but I think that the Wine Glass to wineglass tour was pretty amazing. A gentle hike up through the Hazards to the lookout point overlooking Wineglass Bay on a beautiful sunny day. Descending onto the beach we saw a pod of dolphins. We stopped for a cookie and cappuccino accompanied by a friendly wallerby and paddled our toes in the turquoise bay. Then we had to do the hike in reverse as the sea was too rough for the boat to pick us up. On our return to Freycinet Lodge we had the most amazing lunch ever with crayfish, oysters, abalone, squid, mussels - and this was just the starter!

3 What was your favourite region and why
I loved the towns such as Hobart and Launceston for their amazing early 19th century architecture and tales of convict fokelore together with the most amazing cafes ever.

4. Why Tassie?
The purest air and clearest water - where else would you prefer tap water to mineral water? The freshest seafood, fascinating history, amazing wildlife and lovely people with world class hotels and restaurants and fantastic activities and attractions to suit all ages and tastes.

5. What was your best meal in Tasmania
Another difficult question but I think that the shoulder of lamb with polenta that I had at Henry Jones Art Hotel was sublime.

6. Who would you recommend to visit
Tasmania would suit all ages and interests from young to old but particularly suited to those who appreciate wildlife and nature, gourmet food and wine, hiking and biking, the Great Outdoors and independent travellers who like to get away from the crowds.

7. Describe Tasmania in 7 words
Pure, unspoilt island with fascinating history and amazing produce (sorry I know that's 9!)
