Day 1 - 4: Darwin Arrive into Darwin for your three-night stay, tropical capital of the Top End. Relaxed and laid back and with a warm and inviting atmosphere Darwin is a pleasure to explore. Join a small group experience to Arnhemland with Lords Kakadu and Arnhemland Safaris and explore a region where access is restricted to a select few. Browse the colourful stalls of the Mindil Beach markets then watch the sun set over the ocean before enjoying dinner at Cullen Bay Marina. 3 nights: Vibe Hotel Darwin Waterfront, on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 4 - 5: Darwin - Alice Springs The Ghan The next leg of your adventure is a journey in style through the heart of Australia following the route forged by the Afghan pioneers. Relax in comfort onboard the legendary Ghan as the landscape beyond your window changes from the lush green of the Top End to the rusty hues of the outback. 1 night: The Ghan, Gold Service, including breakfast and dinner.
Day 5 - 8: Alice Springs - Ayers Rock On arrival in Alice Springs, transfer to your hotel and spend the day exploring the town famous for its Aboriginal art scene and pioneer history. The next da leave Alice behind for a 2-day Ayers Rock Discovery experience. Highlights include the Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park, Walpa Gorge walk and the magnificent sight of sunrise over Ayers Rock. Return to Alice Springs for one last night. 3 nights: Chiefly Alice Springs and Desert Gardens, on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 8 - 9: Alice Springs - Adelaide Re-board the Ghan today and continue south to the garden city of Adelaide. 1 night: The Ghan, Gold Service including breakfast and dinner.
Day 9 - 12: Adelaide Explore the delights of Adelaide, perhaps take the tram to the beachside resort of Glenelg, stroll the charming streets of North Adelaide or enjoy a tour of the world famous Barossa Valley. 3 nights: Majestic Roof Garden Hotel, on a room only basis.
