Day 1: Alice Springs
Spend the day exploring this quirky oasis that is the heart of the outback. Visit the Flying Doctor Service, Telegraph Station and the Desert Park.
Overnight: Alice Springs Resort (Room Only).
Day 2: Glen Helen
Head west through the West MacDonnell Ranges to Glen Helen. Highlights include Standley Chasm, Ellery Creek and Ormiston Gorge.
Overnight: Glen Helen Homestead. (Room Only).
Day 3: Kings Canyon
It's 4WD time today as you travel the Mereenie Loop Road (weather permitting), an unsealed red dirt track to Kings Canyon. This is Australia at its most natural and exciting.
Overnight: Kings Canyon Resort. (Room Only).
Day 4-5: Ayers Rock
Rise early to climb the walls of Kings Canyon before the day gets too warm - the rim walk is challenging but spectacular, while the walk along the canyon floor is shady and easier. Continue onto Ayers Rock passing Mount Conner. Make sure you join a sunset or sunrise tour to fully appreciate the changing colours of this sacred rock as the light passes over it.
