Face the far north wilderness on a 4WD safari to Cape York Frontier. Drive north through the Daintree Rainforest along the famous Bloomfield Track and on to historic Cooktown.
Onwards to Quinkan Country to climb the sandstone escarpment at Split Rock to view ancient Aboriginal rock art. Explore Lakefield National Park and see waterlily covered billabongs, birdlife and wildlife before arriving at the Telegraph Station and now working cattle station of Musgrave.
Cross the Great Dividing Range to visit the old gold mining town of Coen before heading to the bauxite mining town of Weipa on the West Coast. Travel on to the Wenlock River, site of the historic Moreton Telegraph Office, for a true safari experience with plenty of time for exploring, bushwalking, birdwatching or just relaxing.
Day 5 sees you travelling along the famous Telegraph Track through Cape York’s unique wilderness. Enjoy a swim in the pristine waters of Fruit Bat Falls. Later, cross the mighty Jardine River to Bamaga.
We visit the beautiful Lockerbie Scrub, an isolated pocket of monsoon rainforest, on our way to historic Somerset. This afternoon, an emotional walk to the very top of Australia, Cape York!
On our final day cruise across to Thursday Island, capital of the Torres Strait Islands. Enjoy a guided tour of the island before taking the ferry to Horn Island. Enjoy spectacular views of the Great Barrier Reef.
