Adelaide to Alice Self Drive
Pick up your 4WD and begin an intrepid adventure from Adelaide to Alice. Australia is full of ancient landscapes each one more incredible than the last and then you have the Flinders Ranges. Moulded by millions of years of geological activity this landscape defies belief. In the heart of it, Wilpena Pound sits surrounded by sandstone bluffs and creek beds lined with River Red Gums, creating the quintessential Australian scene. Enjoy a day to explore, there are a number of optional tours including scenic flights and guided walks available. From here journey on to Parachilna, renowned as the town with a population of just 7, Parachilna sits alongside the old Ghan railway line.Your home is the Prairie Hotel, a quirky outback pub and something of legend. Follow the heritage rich Oodnadatta Track to William Creek with a pit stop at Lake Eyre, Australia’s largest lake, before moving on to the frontier town of Coober Pedy, where many homes have been built underground and where 85% of the world’s opals are produced. Continue on to Alice, heart of the outback and a welcome oasis for weary travellers since 1870.

Alice Springs to Ayers Rock
Drive from Alice to Ayers Rock today, the quickest route is via the highway, however if you want to spend longer exploring you can travel via the Meerenie Loop Road and overnight at Kings Canyon on the way. Once you arrive in Ayers Rock return your car to the airport and join your transfer to Longitude 131°. Hidden from view, Longitude 131° tucks the white domes of its 15 safari style, tented cabins into the ochre red desert sands and hides its tracks from the passing crowds well.
