Leaving Melbourne make your way to the Mornington Peninsula, perhaps visiting the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park enroute. Arching gracefully around the eastern rim of Port Phillip Bay the Mornington Peninsula is easily accessible and offers a wealth of year round golf, vineyards, great beaches and stunning ocean views. Tee off at Moonah Links, home of the Australian Open or perhaps explore a few of the 52 different wineries that make the Mornington Peninsula their home. Visit Sorrento, home to historic hotels and limestone mansions or just enjoy the great outdoor lifestyle of surf ocean beaches and rugged cliff top walks. Today make your way to Phillip Island, something of a local secret. Probably best known for the Little Penguins there is much more to discover. With a wealth of natural beauty, expansive beaches, unique wildlife and old fashioned country hospitality Phillip Island is a joy to explore. Visit the Koala Conservation Centre with its innovative boardwalk that puts you at eye level with these sleepy marsupials or see the largest colony of Australian fur seals in the world at Seal Rocks. Put yourself in the capable hands of the stockmen at Warrook Cattle Farm and try your hand at sheep shearing, milking, boomerang throwing and feeding the kangaroos or perhaps indulge your sweet tooth with a visit to the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory. Overnight: Glen Isla House including breakfast.
Day 3: Phillip Island – Wilson’s Promontory
Wilson’s Prom is one of the country’s most picturesque national parks and the southernmost tip of the Australian mainland. Although renowned for spectacular scenery, cool fern gullies, magnificent beaches and an abundance of wildlife, the region remains remarkably unexplored. The drive onto the prom from Yanakie to Tidal River is very scenic and there are plenty of places to turn off and explore.

Today is free for you to explore at your leisure. Enjoy the beautiful beach at Tidal River, walk to Squeaky Beach with its pure white quartz sand or follow the Lilly Pilly Gully Nature Walk.
