Western Australia is Australia's largest state and consequently offers some of the most diverse experiences in the country.

From the desert interior where a night spent under the canopy of stars is a night you'll never forget to a coastline that boasts mile after mile of shimmering white sand and the bluest ocean of anywhere in the world. Head to the far north of the  state and you'll find one of the world's last great wilderness regions, the Kimberley. In the south west the landscape is gentler with rolling farmland and ancient eucalyptus forests. It's ideal wine growing country and home to Margaret River and some of Australia's finest wines.

The best time to visit the north is in the dry season (April – September) when temperatures are not as hot and access is easier, many roads being closed in the wet. The southern part of the state is an all-year round destination.
