Days 3-5 Waterton National Park Head out on the famous Cowboy Trail into the rolling foothills of Southern Alberta. Days 5-7 Lethbridge Today offers diversity of explorations. Just outside Fort Macleod is UNESCO Heritage Site, Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo Jump known around the world as a remarkable testimony of prehistoric life. Lethbridge is Alberta’s third largest city and boasts numerous attractions including the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, Fort Whoop-Up Interpretive Centre, Sir Alexander Galt Museum, Helen Schuler Coulee Centre and the Southern Alberta Art Gallery. 2 nights Norland (B).
Days 7-9 Medicine Hat The “best of the agricultural west” awaits you today. From the rolling fields of golden wheat to the breathtaking river valleys winding endlessly through the landscape, Medicine Hat shines through to give you a glimpse of times gone by. 2 nights Groves B&B.
Days 9-11 Drumheller Depart Medicine Hat and travel towards Drumheller. From Brooks, take a side trip to Dinosaur Provincial Park, where more than 300 dinosaur skeletons have been pulled from a stretch along the Red Deer River. Drumheller is the “must see” destination in Alberta. Wander through a historic landscape in a stunning badlands setting and visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. 2 nights The Inn and Spa at Harwood Manor (B).
Days 11-13 Edmonton Make your way towards Edmonton, known as the “Festival City”. This bright, vibrant city with the Saskatchewan River drifting through the centre of town is fabulous for exploring on foot or on two wheels. Favourite “must sees” include touring the farmer’s market, gift shops, pubs and restaurants of the Old Strathcona Historic Area, the Muttart Conservatory and the anthropology section of the Provincial Museum of Alberta. 2 nights Selkirk Inn (B).
