Day 1: Calgary to Banff
Leave Calgary for Banff via the Trans-Canada Highway or the more scenic route on the 1A Highway.
1 night: Buffalo Mountain Lodge
Days 2–3: Banff to Emerald Lake
From Banff it's a leisurely drive through to the Yoho National Park. Following the Bow Valley Parkway Johnston Canyon is definitely worth a stop where you can walk to the lower or upper waterfalls. The Yoho National Park is filled with gem coloured glacial lakes, waterfalls, snow covered peaks and dense forest. Historic railroads, spiral tunnels and steep rock faces where sure-footed mountain goats roam punctuate the landscapes. Emerald Lake Lodge is built of hand-hewn timber and features massive stone fireplaces and quiet spaces. The larger verandahs are the perfect place to sit and take in the serene views of the wilderness.
2 nights: Emerald Lake Lodge
Days 4-6: Emerald Lake to Rafter Six Guest Ranch
From the tranquil beauty of Emerald Lake it's onwards to the expansive plains of Rafter Six Ranch. Surrounded by the Stoney Indian Reserve, at the base of the Rocky Mountains, the ranch sits where the Kananaskis Valley and Bow Valley meet. This world class ranch started back in the 1880s when the Northwest Mounted Police needed horses that could cope with the rigors of the Alberta weather and terrain. The ranch today offers a wide variety of optional activities and exciting adventures. In addition to the guided horse riding you can try your hand at white water rafting, hike the walking trails, explore on two wheels or take the challenging treetops rope course and zipline through the natural spruce and Douglas forest.
3 nights: Rafter Six Ranch
Day 7: Rafter Six Guest Ranch to Waterton Park
Next stop on your journey is Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was used by the aboriginal people of the plains for more than 5,500 years. Carry on toWaterton Lakes National Park, a nature lover and photographer's paradise.

Day 8: Waterton Lake Lodge
Today is free for you to explore the wonders of this beautiful region at your own pace. Montana's Glacier National Park (the U.S half of this park) is well worth a visit especially travelling via the Going to the Sun Road, an astonishing feat of engineering backed by stunning scenery.
Day 9: Waterton Lakes to Drumheller
Head north along Highway 2 towards Drumheller. In Nanton you can wander down the Antique and ArtWalk of Alberta and explore the art and antique shops. As you move onwards to Drumheller you will pass through Native Indian 'reserve land' giving you a close up look at how the First National people live. Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park gives a wonderful opportunity to explore the First Nations culture in Alberta.
2 nights: Jurassic Inn, Drumheller
Day 10: Drumheller
There is nowhere quite like the Drumheller Valley - Dinosaur Capital of Canada. This region is like another world of startling contrasts. Rolling fields give way to steep, dry coulees ridged with the strata of hundreds of years of erosion by time, water and wind. The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology is a must do - you can journey through time coming face to face with the incredible creatures that roamed free millions of years ago.
Day 11: Drumheller to Calgary
Don't forget to stop and see the canyons and hoodoos as you leave Drumheller. The remainder of your day is free to explore Calgary. Established in 1875 by the North West Mounted Police this vibrant city has a wealth of attractions to enjoy.
