When is the best time to go to Canada? September is a beautiful time as the fall colours are amazing, the weather still fairly warm and the iconic tourist attractions are less crowded. The summer months offer fantastic weather but this is a far busier season so availability can be a problem. Visit the West Coast and the Rockies in winter for spectacular mountain views and some great winter sports.
What is your favourite Canadian experience? Whale Watching in Victoria was amazing and I recently did a helicopter trip over Niagara Falls which was spectacular.
What was your favourite region? Why? I love Ontario as it holds memories of family holidays taken there when I was younger. There is loads to do from boat trips on lakes and rivers, lakeside cottage stays, fantastic shopping, wilderness experiences in the Algonquin National Park, Canada's Wonderland (a huge theme park). Ottawa is a great city to explore in both summer and winter with the latter offering skating on the Rideau Canal (the longest ice rink in the world) and ice sculpture festivals.
Why Canada? It's not too far to travel, it's clean, friendly and such a diverse country that there is something for everyone.
What was your best meal in Canada? Filet & Tail (steak and lobster) at The Executive House Hotel restaurant, 'Barkleys' in Victoria - they also make the most amazing Caesar salad in front of you. For location '360', the revolving restaurant at The CN Tower, is an experience not to be missed and the food was also pretty good.
Who would you recommend to visit Canada? Everyone! It's excellent for families, great for romantic getaways, offers iconic journeys such as the Rocky Mountaineer and a trip can be as relaxing or as thrilling as you make it.
