An introduction to Cambodia at a gentle pace. From the colourful capital of Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and the truly remarkable temples of Angkor.

Day 1 Phnom Penh
On arrival at Phnom Penh airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel of choice. This afternoon enjoy a short tour of the capital.

Day 2 Phnom Penh - Siem Reap
This morning board your boat for the five hour journey to Siem Reap. From your vantage point on the water watch as life on the river passes by. This afternoon begins your exploration of Angkor with a tour of the Rolous group of temples including Prasat Bakong, Preah Ko, erected in the late 9th century
and Lo Lei.

Day 3 Angkor Complex
This morning visit Angkor Thom, a fortified city on a truly epic scale. The city has five immense gates including the South Gate. In the centre of the walled enclosure lie the city’s most important monuments including the Elephant Terrace and the Bayon. This afternoon visit the hilltop temple of Phnom Pankheng for sunset views of AngkorWat. This is a popular spot and may well be busy but this does not detract from the memorable views. (B)

Day 4 Angkor Complex
Today drive to Phnom Kulen, considered by the Khmers to be the most sacred mountain in Cambodia. At the summit see the great reclining Buddha carved into the sandstone boulder. Enjoy a picnic lunch before visiting the exquisite Banteay Srey, a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva and cut from stone of a pinkish hue and Banteay Samre which dates from the same period as AngkorWat. (B)

Day 5 Angkor Complex
This morning visit majestic AngkorWat, built between 1112 and 1152 by King Suryavarman II and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation, it is believed to be the largest religious monument anywhere in the world. This afternoon explore one of Angkor’s most compelling ruins Ta Prohm - swallowed by the jungle you get a real sense of what the European explorers must have felt when they first stumbled upon them. (B)

Day 6 Siem Reap
Today sees a change of pace. Visit the silk farm of Pok, the Artisan D’Angkor and the Land Mine Museum. This afternoon see the Wat Bo Pagoda and the Old Market. (B)

Day 7 Siem Reap
Transfer back to the airport for your onward flight or extend your stay.
