Day 1 Hanoi
Arrive into Hanoi and check into your hotel.

Day 2 Hanoi
Enjoy a city tour of Hanoi, immerse yourself in its rich history, museums, rambling Old Quarter and the many parks and lakes. This evening, sample some of Hanoi’s finest cuisine before experiencing a traditional water
puppet theatre performance. (B,L,D)

Day 3 Hanoi - Sapa
Spend the day exploring Hanoi’s shopping and café culture, before boarding the overnight sleeper train north to Sapa. (B)

Day 4 Sapa
At an elevation of 1600 metres, this delightful former French hill station is situated in the mountainous region of Vietnam’s northwest, close to the Chinese border. The surrounding area is simply breathtaking and home to South East Asia’s highest mountain, Mount Fasipan and there are innumerable trekking and hiking trails to explore. This is hill tribe country with an abundance of ethnic minority groups, many of who still wear their traditional, colourful attire. Enjoy a guided walk through lush rice paddies and tiny hill tribe villages. This afternoon is spent exploring the fabulous markets selling traditional art and crafts, embroidery and silver. (B)

Day 5 Sapa - Hanoi
Spend the day trekking to hill tribe villages before taking the overnight train back to Hanoi. (B,L)

Day 6 Hanoi - Halong Bay
Arrive during the early morning and dine ‘Vietnamese style’ before driving east to the World Heritage site of Halong Bay. With thousands of limestone peaks and traditional fishing villages, this hauntingly beautiful place will leave indelible images in your memory. Spend 2 nights cruising through the bay
aboard a traditional junk. (B,L,D)

Day 7 Halong Bay
Explore hidden caves, kayak through emerald green water, swim, sunbathe and feast on Vietnamese seafood. (B,L,D)

Day 8 Hanoi
Transfer to Hanoi for your flight home or extend your stay.
