Summer is the most popular time to visit the Coromandel but if you want to avoid the crowds then the best time to visit is during autumn and spring when the weather is still nice. The flowering Pohutukawa trees bloom in spring and early summer are a spectacular sight, prompting the Coromandel Pohutukawa Festival in November / December.
