Day 1 Arrive at Matahui Lodge. Relax in the luxurious surrounding or wander through the 6 acres of manicured grasslands & vineyards. Enjoy pre dinner drinks before heading to a local restaurant for dinner.
Day 2 - Cooking Demo (B, L) Peter Blakeway has almost twenty years’ experience in the hospitality industry, ten years spent running the multi award-winning and Good Hotel Guide’s Hotel of the Year, Kilcamb Lodge, in the Scottish Highlands. The Lunchtime demo includes a 1 hour cooking demo followed by a delicious two-course lunch with matching wines on the patio looking out towards fabulous views of Tauranga Harbour.
Spend the afternoon exploring the Mural town of Katikati or head to the local vineyard – Moreton Estate Winery for wine tasting. If you fancy a game of golf, Golf Pacifica is only minutes from Matahui Lodge or you may like to try your hand at Clay Bird Shooting.
Day 3 - Self-drive tour of Bay of Plenty Arts, Crafts & Specialty Food (B) The Bay of Plenty's arts and crafts culture has been growing strong in the past few years. Take some time to browse through art markets, local shops or artists' studios to learn about the local art on offer.
There are many specialty food outlets, restaurants and cafes to tempt your taste buds. A visit to the Prenzel Heaven Tasting room in Tauranga is a must.

Feeling energetic – climb to the top of Mt Maunganui and enjoy the magnificent views, or perhaps choose to walk around the base of the Mount and finish with a drink & meal at one of the many cafes along the waterfront.
Day 4 - Mills Reef Winery Tour (B,D) Get picked up from Matahui Lodge and fly by helicopter in to Tauranga's, award wining winery. Views of the stunning Tauranga Harbour, City Kaimai ranges and more, as we make our way to Mills Reef for an informative tour and, of course, plenty of wine tasting!Treat yourself to lunch in the highly-regarded Mills Reef Restaurant. (Not included)
Day 5 (B) After a delicious breakfast it is time to bid farewell and continue on your journey.

***BLOW THE BUDGET OPTION*** Volcanic Air Safaris – White Island Adventure Your helicopter will personally collect you from the front doorstep of Matahui Lodge and fly out over the Pacific Ocean to land on New Zealand’s most active volcano – WhiteIsland, located off the coast of The Bay of Plenty from Whakatane. Landing at the crater floor, your pilot will take you on a guided tour to experience the fury of nature at work on this ever changing Island. Situated 50 kilometres offshore, this active island volcano constantly emits a cloud of steam and periodically erupts to a greater extent expelling volcanic ash several thousand metres into the atmosphere. The main vent is below sea level protected by the crater walls. View the main crater, sulphur deposits and the remains of the old sulphur mine. Depart WhiteIsland and return back to your accommodation.
