Often overlooked in favour of its more illustrious twin Milford, Doubtful Sound requires a little more effort to get to but the rewards are worth it. Boasting rich marine life including fur seals, fiordland crested penguins and bottle nosed dolphins, towering peaks with cascading waterfalls and less people, Doubtful Sound is a must for any visitor to New Zealand.
The overnight cruise gives plenty of time to enjoy the stunning views and to discover the hidden arms of Doubtful Sound. You can kayak around the shoreline or explore in the tender craft with a nature guide. As the shadows lengthen drop anchor at a favourite mooring for the night. The following morning after a hearty breakfast there will be time to explore once again before returning to Deep Cove.
The Fiordland Navigator is the newest of Real Journey’s vessels, purpose built for cruising in the fiords. The vessel offers spacious viewing decks, a comfortable dining saloon and observation lounge and private cabins with ensuite bathroom.
Doubtful Sound is also available from Queenstown, please ask your consultant for details.
