4 night itinerary - Tranquillity at Eden House
4 Nights at Edenhouse (Named in the '101 Best Hotels in the
World' 2010 Tatler Travel Guide) – Nelson/Tasman region
A gracious
residence situated on 48 acres of private grounds. Edenhouse is "our
favourite NZ hideaway". US Virtuoso agent.
Day 1:
Arrive
at Edenhouse. Relax in the luscious
gardens or wander through the 48 acres of private grounds. Enjoy the private garden Jacuzzi before
joining your hosts Peter & Bobbie for pre-dinner drinks & canapés
followed by a 3 course meal at Edenhouse.
Day 2 - Float Fishing
For
the less experienced fly fisherman this is a worthwhile, and often more
rewarding, adventure. Float fishing on placid grade 1 & 2 waters is a lot
of fun. The nationally important Motueka River is just minutes away and is
ideal for lure fishing from a drifting raft controlled with oars by your guide.
Watch spotted brown trout chase your lure whilst passing great scenery,
wildlife and waterfowl. Everything is supplied for a great day out on the water
and, best of all; you won’t even need to get your feet wet!
You will be returned to Edenhouse
to tell the tales about the ‘big ones’ that got away!!
Day 3 – Native Plant weaving workshop
Sally Austin is an extremely talented and
highly regarded artist. Her lifelong passion for creativity and gardening has
cumulated in her work with plant fibres. She utilises traditional Maori weaving
techniques to create a range of forms, mostly with native plant materials such
as Flax and Lacebark. Her fine
craftsmanship has been exhibited throughout the country and she undertakes
private commissions.
Sally
imparts her vast knowledge to our guests.
Enjoy a half day workshop giving you the opportunity to create your own
artwork, including ornamental flowers and baskets, influenced by the teachings
of famed Maori weavers.
Partners may
prefer to spend the morning playing nine holes of golf at our neighbouring
Monterey House Country Club, through our guest membership.
Spend
the afternoon exploring the region, visit the
exclusive Monterey House Country Club as our guest, or simply put your feet up and relax at Edenhouse.
Day 4 – Tastings & Picnic at Neudorf Vineyard
Neudorf
is “New Zealand’s greatest wine producer” according to Tom Stevenson’s UK
publication “Wine Report 2009”.
This
vineyard was created in 1978 and the owners, Tim and Judy Finn, were told by
their bank to think about raising sheep, there was no future in wine! However
Neudorf has evolved into the most stunning and picturesque vineyard and is
located 15 minutes from Edenhouse in an idyllic setting for tastings and
picnics. It’s a great way to experience a New Zealand vineyard with an
international reputation and “some of the finest wines in the Southern
Hemisphere”.
Enjoy
a Gourmet picnic for two with the very best of Edenhouse preserves, locally
produced meats, cheeses, artisan breads and a bottle of Neudorf wine.
Visit other nearby
wineries, Hoglund Glass, the World of Wearable Art and Classic Cars Museum, and a few of the 350 artists residing in the region.

Awaroa Beach by fixed-winged aircraft or helicopter and then fly for up to two
hours. Share unforgettable bird’s-eye views of Abel Tasman National Park,

where it meets the crashing Tasman Sea, seeing coastal forests and New
