Visit one of New Zealand's most remote areas on this three day river trip. Untouched, unspoiled and visited by only a privileged few, the Landsborough Valley provides the setting for a truly unique wilderness experience.
Camp and paddle your way down the Landsborough River, glide past hanging glaciers, magnificent 10,000ft mountains and dense rainforest. There will be plenty of time for bushwalking, canyoning and campfire stories with rafting companions.
Day 1: Friday You will be picked up from your Queenstown accommodation and transferred to Carvells Rafting Lodge where you will meet your guides before departing for Burkes Flat via Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea. Your journey continues with a spectacular fixed wing or helicopter flight to Toe Toe Flat where lunch is served. Whilst your guides set up camp and prepare a delicious 3-course evening meal you'll have time to explore the magnificent surroundings.
Day 2: Saturday After a leisurely breakfast and a full safety briefing you will begin your rafting experience, from the action packed to the sedate. After a hearty lunch above Hellfire Rapids continue down the river to Harpers Bluff and your second camp. Try your hand at fishing, and later seek out the glow-worm caves as your hosts prepare another delicious meal.
Day 3: Sunday After a relaxed cooked breakfast a day of fun awaits. Discover Purple Creek before lunch, followed by 3 more hours of rafting. At 3pm your coach will transfer you back to Queenstown where you will arrive at approximately 7pm.
