Buenos Aires - Iguazu - Bariloche - El Calafate - Buenos Aires
Feel the rhythm of the Tango in your heartbeat as you savour a plethora of sights, sounds and experiences. Spend your days trekking onto glaciers, riding with gauchos and cruising crystal blue lakes and your evenings relaxing by roaring fires with a glass of the excellent local wine.
Day 1 Buenos Aires
Arrive at Buenos Aires International Airport and be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Buenos Aires
Today enjoy a fascinating 4-hour tour of the elegant turn-of-the-century districts that earned Buenos Aires the soubriquet of the Paris of South America. Highlights include the Colourful Boca district, the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Nación Bank, the Cathedral and original Parliament House and the historically fascinating Recoleta Cemetery. The evening will be spent at Rojo Tango where a typically Argentine first-class meal will be served before settling down for a tango show. (B,L,D)
Day 3 Buenos Aires - Iguazu
After breakfast, depart for your flight to Iguazú. On arrival, transfer to the Brazilian side of the Iguazú National Park and enjoy the diversity of views of the falls to be discovered from the maze of walkways. (B)
Day 4 Iguazu
After a buffet breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring the Argentine Falls. With just over a kilometre of paths running along the basin of the Devil’s Gorge and walkways that are only a few metres from the edge of the main falls, be enveloped in the clouds of fine spray rising up from the raging torrent. (B)
Day 5 Iguazu - Buenos Aires - Bariloche
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Bariloche. On arrival enjoy a tour of your scenic surroundings. (B)
Day 6 Bariloche
After breakfast at the hotel embark on a full day tour of Victoria Island beginning at Pañuelo Port, on the shores of the picturesque Llao Llao Peninsula across the blue waters of Lake Nahuel Huapi. Interesting legends will be part of your trip as your guide leads you through the history of the island. (B)
Day 7 Bariloche
Today you have a full day at leisure to relax and enjoy the activities at the hotel or take an optional tour of Villa La Angostura or a wine and adventure tour. (B)
An optional extension to the stay in Bariloche is to stay two or three nights at a typical Patagonian ranch, please askfor details. (not included in the cost)
Day 8 Bariloche - El Calafate
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to El Calafate. On arrival transfer to your hotel. (B)
Day 9 El Calafate
After an early breakfast at the hotel, depart to board the boat at Puerto Banderas, for a magnificent Glacier experience of the Upsala Glacier, Oneli Lake and Spegazzini Glacier. (B)
Day 10 El Calafate
Today embark on a full-day tour to the Perito Moreno Glacier through the National Park. As you stand below gazing up at the massive rugged face, you become aware that the glacier is very much a living, evolving thing. It creaks and cracks like rifle shots as huge chunks of ice, the size of houses break off and fall into the black waters below. (B)
Optional extensions of a Nautical Safari and Mini-trekking are available at an extra cost.
Day 11 El Calafate - Buenos Aires
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires. On arrival transfer to your hotel. (B)
Day 12 Buenos Aires
After breakfast transfer to the airport. (B)
