Cordoba receives cool winters and hot summers, with average temperatures of 22º C in the summer and 12º C in the winter. Rainfall averages about 800 mm a year with a dry season lasting from May through to November. Besides these averages, there are many local climates and microclimates that are the reason for Cordoba becoming known as a major tourist destination within Argentina since the late 19th century. When medicine lacked, it was a very frequent for doctors to prescribe their patients to take 'a change of airs', by making a healing visit to the Sierras of Cordoba. |
