This 2 day tour travels across a wide range of landscapes from the lush vegetation of fertile valleys to multicoloured mountains and never ending rivers to huge flat plains with cacti and dunes.
 
Day 1
Leaving Salta via the tobacco plantations of the Lerma Valley the winding road climbs through the Quebrada de Escoipe (Escoipe Range) 13 miles until you reach Piedra del Molino (Milestone) for an unforgettable view of the landscape below. A detour leads to Valle Encantado (Enchanted Valley). Continue along the Recta de Tin Tin, 3000m above sea level and parallel to the ‘Los Cardones’ National Park with its glorious cardón cacti. Enjoy impressive views of the magnificent snow capped Nevado de Cachi Mountains, continuing onward past Payogasta and finally arriving in the pre-colonial village of Cachi for the night.
 
Day 2
From Cachi, travel south along the Calchaquí River to Seclantás well known for the beautiful hand-knitted ponchos made by locals. Continue to Molinos, a 17th-century town of adobe homes and dusty streets virtually unchanged from how it must have appeared 350 years ago. From Molinos visit the crystalline Brealito Volcanic Lagoon and enjoy an easy two-hour trek. The journey from Molinos to Cafayate travels through the Quebrada de las Flechas (Arrows Gorge) and amazing sceneries of extraordinarily desolate beauty. Several mini treks are included along the way allowing you to experience the amazing landscape in its full splendor.
