Fifty miles north of Bariloche in the centre of the Patagonia Lake District, Villa La Angostura is an enchanting mountain village. One of the main sightseeing attractions in Villa La Angostura is the unique Bosque de los Arrayanes (Myrtles) which protects the native and rare Arrayán trees. Villa La Angostura is home to some excellent restaurants and cosy lodging with most hotels tucked away in the forest on the shore of the Lake Nahuel Huapi, providing beautiful views and quiet surroundings.

During the summer months, from December to March, flowers are in full bloom, waterfalls gushing, streams flowing and the mountains beckon hikers, bikers, kayakers, horse riders and fly fishermen.

The Lake District is an all-season destination, with an overall temperate, if rainy, climate. Spring and summer, from November to April, are drier months than the winter months, but expect rain at any time. Be aware that flooding can alter travel plans.
