The Iguazu falls are simply breathtaking. The 275 falls are over 3 kilometers (2 miles) wide and 80 meters (260
feet) high, which makes them wider than Victoria, higher than Niagra,
and more beautiful than either. The Iguazu falls create the border beween Brazil and Argentina, with two thirds of the falls falling on the Argentinian side .
You must visit both sides of the Iguazu Falls to properly see them and experience the roar of the water, drenching mist, and huge rainbows. The entrance to the
Brazilian Iguazu National Park is located approximately 20km from the small
town of Foz do Iguazu. Nothing can quite prepare you for the sheer force and
sublime beauty of 275 separate cascading falls set within a stunning
subtropical nature reserve. The Brazilian side of the falls offers the finest
overall view but visits to both the Brazilian and Argentine sides is highly
recommended to fully appreciate this magnificent natural phenomena.
The best time to visit Iguazu Falls depends on your personal preference. If you want to experience Iguazu Falls at its full might then the rainy season, normally heaviest from December to February is best. However, you might encounter cold and cloudy days and sightseeing trails are occasionally closed due to rain damage. If you want warm, blue-sky weather then the dry season, typically from April to July is best. However the Falls noticeably dwindle in strength at this time.
