As it's name suggests, Ecuador's location on the equator means that there are no real summers or winters, weather is generally governed by regional geography and variations in altitude rather than by the time of year. Average high temperatures in Quito are 19°C year round whereas coastal regions such as Guayaquil are between 29-32°C. Rainfall however in this area varies greatly with a distinct dry season from early June to early December.
