The Ecuadorian Coast is home to the country's largest city and gateway to the Galapagos, Guayaquil. However, those who stop longer to venture along the Ruta del Sol will find numerous isolated, tropical beaches waiting to be explored. Each year from June to October, humpback whales can be witnessed as they migrate from the Antarctic for the warmer waters and nature lovers will be further intrigued by forests with rare flora and fuana, coral reefs surrounded by exotic sea life and the numerous bird species of the region.
