Best times to go:
One of the largest processions in South America takes place in Lima during late October to early November when many thousands gather to honour Senor de los Milagros, The Lord of Miracles. On a smaller scale, on 18th January Lima celebrates its foundation by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizzaro. The anniversary is celebrated with different cultural and artistic festivities, the main being the parade called ‘pasacalles’. Enjoy dancers and artists performing typical folklore dances and shows. |

From April to November, Lima and other areas by the Pacific Ocean are enclosed in garúa, a coastal fog, mist or drizzle, as warmer air from the desert drifts over the ocean and meets the cold Humboldt Current. From January to March are Lima’s summer months when the sun comes out and people head to the beaches. |
