Further Highlights
There is lots to do and experience in Tahiti, from overwater bungalows, island tours, snorkelling and diving, shark feeding, touring ‘Black Pearl’ farms, Polynesian spas, unique cruise ships, or a Motu Picnic in the warm shallow waters.    

Visa Information
Citizens of EU countries do not need a visa for stays of up to 3 months. US, Canada and mexico do not need visas for stays of up to one month. Other countries should consult the French consulate. A Valid passport is required.

Weather
Tahiti has a tropical climate with temperatures of around 79 degrees F all year round and enough rainfall to keep flowers blooming and waterfalls flowing.

Transports
Travel between the islands is short, easily arranged and convenient. Domestic Airlines are available at Tahiti’s Faa’a Airport. There is also regular ferry transportation.

Currency
U.S. dollars and Euros are widely accepted here although poor exchange rates are offered. Their home currency is the French Pacific Franc, which is pegged to the euro and fluctuates against the US dollar.

Health, Hygiene and Safety
Good sanitary facilities and health services are available. There are fully equipped hospitals in Papeete, Taravao and Uturo, which provide a high standard of health care. There are few insect problems and the area is free of malaria.
