Day 1 UK - Chicago Begin with Titan’s VIP Home Departure Service® to Heathrow Airport for your flight to Chicago. On arrival a private transfer is included to your centrally located hotel. 3 nights: Chicago
Day 2 Chicago Dominating the south-west shore of Lake Michigan, Chicago’s impressive skyline combines some of the world’s most elegant skyscrapers with lower-rise buildings and a clever use of open-space parkland fronting the river. It boasts examples of the work of the USA’s greatest architects and fine open-air sculptures by such masters as Chagall, Miro and Picasso. A walk around the city, bisected by the Chicago River, is a constant delight. This evening consider a visit to a blues and jazz club to hear some of the best modern exponents of the art.
Day 3 Chicago Chicago’s shops and restaurants are world-class. Head for The Loop or the Magnificent Mile for major department stores, upscale boutiques and speciality shops, or perhaps to one of the city’s many thriving shopping districts. Chicago has myriad attractions, theatres, festivals and museums to keep you busy. You will also find countless restaurants catering for a whole range of tastes and budgets. A feast of a different kind is provided at the celebrated Art Institute of Chicago, one of the world’s greatest art galleries.
Day 4 Chicago - Memphis Make your way to Chicago Airport this morning for your flight to Memphis. Home of gospel and blues and the type of rock ‘n’ roll perfected by Elvis Presley, once the city’s greatest resident. On arrival make your way to your hotel, located in the heart of downtown Memphis, close to the world-famous Beale Street. 3 nights: Memphis
Day 5 Memphis Memphis offers many things to many people – history, music, food, art, cultural diversity and an easy-going nature. Music put the town on the map – it is a town with rock ‘n’ roll in its heart and blues in its soul. From the holy grails of music landmarks to the restaurants and atmospheric nights spots on legendary Beale Street, there is an irresistible vibe that has drawn people here for years.
Day 6 Memphis Enjoy two days to discover a variety of attractions, including the Smithsonian Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, Sun Studio – the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll, the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, or, for something a little different, the remarkable National Civil Rights Museum. We recommend pre-booking an optional excursion to Graceland, Elvis Presley’s 14-acre estate. Here you can see the ‘King’s‘ two private jets and his cars and, through the lavishness of the decoration, get a glimpse into his lifestyle.
Day 7 Memphis - Nashville 210 miles - Collect your hire car this morning and enjoy a leisurely drive to Nashville. Perhaps stop en route in the historic city of Jackson, where the Casey Jones Village relives the Steam Age of railroading, with the famous engineer’s restored home, a life-size replica of his locomotives and a 1900’s general store. Continue onto Nashville and your downtown hotel and this evening start to explore this city of contrasts, famous as the country music capital of the world. 3 nights: Nashville
Day 8 Nashville Enjoy unabashed good humour combined with typical southern civility and unique bars and restaurants. Stroll through the city and along the Cumberland River admiring the historical and architecturally-interesting buildings and districts. Nashville is also known as the ‘Athens of the South’ – with a full-scale replica of the Greek Parthenon, the tallest inside sculpture in the western world. We recommend you spend an entertaining evening at the Grand Ole Opry which has packed in the crowds since 1925 and is the nation’s longest running radio show hosting top country music stars.
Day 9 Nashville Enjoy another day exploring this vibrant community. Music Row is the heart of Nashville’s recording industry and the centre of numerous country music attractions. The Country Music Hall of Fame displays memorabilia of famous singers such as Dolly Parton, Trisha Yearwood and Vince Gill. This evening enjoy a meal in one of Nashville’s sophisticated restaurants. Perhaps take in a midday or evening musical or theatrical performance on-board the world famous General Jackson, a 300-foot paddle wheel riverboat.
Day 10 Nashville - UK Enjoy time for some shopping before driving to Nashville Airport to return your car and check-in for your overnight flight via Chicago to the UK.
